Our Story
Esenco was born in 2021 from the collaboration between Antonella Albanese and Cassandra Bianco, both Italians with artistic experiences in Italy and abroad. Together, they lead, create, and dance for this artistic project in which their experiences find an idyllic synthesis in a language both physical and poetic. In the artistic vision of the duo, the body plays a fundamental role, intended as a tool for direct emotional and energetic transmission. Starting from a perceptual imaginary towards a common intent of authentic relationship with the infinite nuances of the human being.
Lay Bare is the debut creation by the two authors. The executive production is curated by ResExtensa, Porta d'Oriente - National Dance Production Centre, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC), the Apulia Region, and AREA Mediterranea, the first dance residency in Apulia – AnT Artisti nei Territori. This was followed by the works Habitat, E/U-topia (a finalist project in the Residanza – La casa della nuova coreografia 2023, promoted within the framework of the project New Dance Box – Scouting, Promotion and More 2022/2024, supported by the Ministry of Culture – Campania Region, in collaboration with Teatro di Napoli – National Theatre), Tierra que anda, Spotless Mind (executive production by Interno 5, in collaboration with ResExtensa, Porta d'Oriente - National Dance Production Centre, and Sala Nera - Tempio del Futuro Perduto), and The Crossing: triple bill of female choreographers, in collaboration with Jyoti Soni (Lay Bare, E/U-topia, Our Mother is Our Daughter). Other works include Eco di Silenzio, with executive production by Associazione Balletto “Città di Rovigo” and Fabula Saltica Company, with contributions from the Ministry of Culture, the Veneto Region, and the Young Authors under 35 project, as well as MAYBE NEXT TIME commissioned by Ballett Theater Trier under the artistic direction of Roberto Scafati, Trigger Moment, I’m Not a Ghost, and IN-SIMBIO.
